The very north part of Yakima Valley AVA sits Konnowac Pass at 1300 feet. Marsanne, Roussanne, and Viognier flourish here in the elevated granite stones from the ancient Columbia River floods. Big temperature shifts are a Washington State dessert specialty but here it is amplified. Cool nights with hot days lead to flinty natural acids that are backed by tropical fruit profiles and enable full malolactic fermentation for natural stabilization and texture.
